Stone Blue Suede Dress

Shifting Side Suede Dress from Tobi

Today I wanted to feature a cute dress from Tobi.com. It’s a one piece genuine suede dress in a grey-ish blue shade. When I met Chriselle Lim last September in New York, she was wearing this stunning suede dress after her first fashion runway. I remembered making a mental note to myself to find something similar and this dress really reminds me of it.tobi myohhmy

And by the way, Chriselle was so nice in person and I had a great couple minutes chatting with her about her first runway show for Rebecca Minkoff. She said she was so nervous, but Chriselle, you totally got it!

Sorry for the blurry picture! There were a lot of people at the store!

How I Styled It

I think I was really captured by the stone blue color and thought it was a nice dress to wear for the fall/winter. I styled it with a white moto jacket from Zara (I love moto style) and added a pair of my favorite pointed toe bootie from Marc Fisher. You can wear any piece of statement necklace for this dress, maybe a silver tone to stay in that cool tone.

Tips on How to Make a Big Dress Work for Petites without Sewing

So because I am a petite, the dress was too big on me even in the smallest size. One cool tip is to use a belt to tighten the waist area and making it a bit form fitting for myself. I would use the belt as I would if there were belt loops and then pull up some fabric up from the dress to cover the belt (no sight of belt seen). It’s a really neat trick without getting it altered and it’s free and pretty easy.

A pink bag would compliment the grey-ish blue and white outfit
